RAMONES: So sieht die „Rocket To Russia: 40th Anniversary Deluxe Edition“ aus

Am 4. November 1977 erschien „Rocket To Russia“, das dritte Album der RAMONES. Es sollte auch das letzte Album der Band sein, welches in der Ur-Besetzung aufgenommen wurde. 1974 gegründet wurde die Band sehr schnell zu einem Aushängeschild des New Yorker Clubs CBGB, in dem sich auch Bands wir Blondie oder die New York Dolls herum trieben. 1976 erschien das selbst betitelte Debüt-Album der RAMONES, welches u.a. „Blitzkrieg Bop“, „Judy Is A Punk“ oder „Today Your Love, Tomorrow The World“ enthielt und heute in keinem Plattenschrank fehlen darf. Schon im Januar 1977 erschien das zweite Album „Leave Home“ und im November des selben Jahres kam „Rocket To Russia“ heraus.

Nun, zum 40-jährigen Geburtstag dieses Meilensteins gibt es eine Neuauflage des Albums. Und diese hat es in sich: Die 3 CD / 1 LP-Box Rocket To Russia: 40th Anniversary Deluxe Edition präsentiert zwei unterschiedliche Mixe des Original-Albums: Eine remasterte Version des Originals und den von RAMONES-Producer Ed Stasium neu angefertigten 2017 40th Anniversary Tracking Mix. Dazu kommen eine ganze Reihe von bisher unveröffentlichten Studio-Aufnahmen und ein bisher ebenfalls unveröffentlichter Mitschnitt des 1977er Konzerts in Glasgow/Schottland. Und ein Video gibt es auch:
